A few friends were very "close" to Chatham last year.

Never been to fish creek, but to Broke a few times, most notably camping with a school group at the outlet during a massive storm back in maybe 2005? Half the sheep in the district died, and we were holed up for days!

I'll look for a piccie later.

    Keeping on the water theme.

A clue. It's not too far away from this rural roadsign, which still exists.

Negative. This place makes the Wolgan look deep.

The whole region becomes drier as you move further east. We were a bit upset finding this major river system to be completely dry, didn't find any water in over two days. On the climb out however, we found some interesting rock platforms, confirming Spiersy's rock type amongst other things.

Whilst having a short break, we found over fifty of these carvings, before continuing our walk.

Another clue is available if this one proves too cryptic, but probably too easy to put up just yet.

And we have a winner. Talk about difficult - trying to balance too hard and too easy for the pics!!!!

The mighty Macdonald River, arcing through Yengo NP. Or should I say, the mighty Macdonald sandpit? I think this pic was taken as we headed out along the Bala Range - Mt Yengo being the prominent basalt capped peak.

Incidentally, the sign in miles per hour was at the start of the walk, just off the Putty Road. The sounds of banjoes and rocking chairs were loud out here, and was disturbing to see a number of gated, patrolled, and armoured compounds tucked away (!!! Maybe the RTA person didn't survive to replace the sign). An odd start to a trip, no lattés in sight.

The carved arrows made me think it might be somewhere around the Old Great Northern Road (Convict). Drove the Wollombi Road from Bucketty once, just after some major flooding (2007 IIRC)... banjos, alligators, definitely a backwater. Also some great MTB riding up that way.

Magnetic Island, north west end from the mainland around Pallarenda.

Have lots of childhood memories of Magnetic, and a few adult ones.

Bloody hell, was back the front. Allegedly I came into fruition amongst the granite boulders near Bowen.

I'm busy for a while, perhaps @Rabid K9 can post a pic as he was so so close with the Orpheous / Fantome Island where is it.
