As busy as last Easter or busier?
Not quite as busy I don't think they broke the record. Not much in it though. Friday and Monday the best, Saturday the busiest.
There's a palm tree version like first photo on the gold coast - or at least there was about 20 years ago.
The trunks are all too straight
They need to get dodgy Bros in to fk it up and make it look real
Twas Nice up Top on the weekend..................
Thredbo marketing department been at it again with the spray on snow.
Another mate was down there saying the tracks were rooned by braking bumps!! Must be using pikes.....
The track was awesome on Friday, Flow was best I have seen it in ages. But easter crowd means lots of people who can't ride, having a crack, which does bring the braking bumps on pretty quick really. Flow was not as fun yesterday. But if you go fast enough, its smoother. Pretty much hero dirt all weekend, was good.
Lots of bikes on the hill that the hill may kill. Saw some people in full rental, suit and FF, walking down, having realised they couldn't do it. Would not advise lifts for first timers, haha. They would have been told, but hey.
New new section on the AM is fun, bit tight, but interesting.
Nothery of the Muzz on the Flow Saturday
Has he ridden it in previous years? It's in the best condition I've ever seen for this point in the season. It is usually completely thrashed by now but a whole heap of work was done just before the long weekend. So much fun.
Works well on my phone.
About time they had a responsive site...
Oh thanks ****
Good god I hope the estore has fkd off too.
Looks like the same estore functionality
There was a thread a long time ago that sought photos of what the snowline at 2000m looks like on mainland Oz. That kind of nails it to this part of NSW. Sorry Vic. These pics do the job nicely. Thanks.
First lifted tracks for the season!
This season's Flexipass has gone on sale. More expensive than last year I think but still okay value.
Is this a deer? If so, WTF?
And if anyone knows how to save the image so it doesn't update in the morning in this post (by which time, the deer-like thing will presumably have moved), that'd be great
Plenty of deer in the Thredbo Valley, but usually down towards Bullocks Flat. Often see them "sunbaking" by the roadside.
Ah. Yes, I've seen them near emu corner there (near park entry gates), come to think of it. Never in village tho
Dat tis a Fox me matey.
Don't see it. Looks like Bambi's cousin to me
Blow it up to 300%
It's a big fox with antlers.
Bambi does not have antlers for starters. What you think are antlers is a dirt/dark patch in the snow.
FYI: That problem no longer happens. The current forum software takes a copy of posted pics and serves that up instead to stop img links breaking over time. The downside is animated gifs no longer work.
No antlers for sure, but that shape doesn't convince me it's a fox.
Fox doesn't have long skinny legs like that deer. And i'm pretty sure it has antlers.
You guys been hitting the redtube or what?
Spent a bit of time lining up foxes in the car at night. They don't stand more than about 0.3m off the ground. That thing is 1.3m tall at least.
It's a Lesser Spotted Covfefe...
Hi res copy says no.
If they were deer, it would be called Deer Corner :shakes head:
Are you sure those deer you saw didnt have emu feathers?
Definitely shaped like a deer. And looking again I'm thinking it *might* have antlers. Given the resolution of the original cam, antlers wouldn't show very clearly anyway.
I find the easiest way is to use 'Snipping Tool' which is on Windows. On Mac I believe you type 'Command, Shift and 4' at the same time and select what you want to highlight (but that might highlight your whole screen, not sure). Then save your image to Photobucket or wherever then upload to here that way.
Yeah I use snipping tool for lots of things but as @cold wombat said I no longer need it in this instance. Cheers tho
FWIW that's not a fox, IMO. Could be a giant cat!
While I was working up there I saw deer regularly in and around the village. Around 5pm every day a stag used to come down out of the hills at the main entrance and hang around in the bush next to the snowmaking pond. High Noon cam caught some deer grazing a couple of years back. They are everywhere.
Looks like a canid of one sort or another to me..
I declare the science settled on this.
when camping near thredbo, Dingo howling can be pretty impressive, eerie and slightly perturbing.
I'm going for Dingo
Just for scale - note the height of the person in the right hand side of the current cam image. Person is standing about the same distance from the cam as the deer was last night. Now tell me that deer was not well over 1m tall - probably 1.5m at the head. Now find me a dingo or fox that stands that tall and has such skinny unfury legs.
Damn image changed on me. Person now gone. Can someone go and stand where the deer was?
I'll go. Just give me 6 hours or so. Oh wait, I can see it now in the reply to message screen but not in the thread. Weird.
Mystery animal. Looks lost. Looks frightened.
It's Malcom Turnbull foraging for votes.
So Thredbo will open on the 10th with Cruiser High Noon and Friday flat open
Depends a bit on next weeks weather. Could be half a metre dump or a total washout. I'm optimistic it will fall o n the positive side.
Whales more apparent on Merrits in afternoon light. Would be ready to go by tomorrow. Wonder if Thredbo will try and open to match Perisher?
Where have the High Noon cams gone?
Seems to be only on the Thredbo sight TW
Edit Annoyingly can't enlarge them on the phone app .
Not on my Thredbo phone app!
