At Noosa with the family for 5 nights
Surf is up, about as big as I've seen it on the Noosa beachfront before
Haven't got a board unfortunately, but got some ripper barrels using my tubby barrel like body! :D

Had a small 1-2ft session on the home stretch yesterday. Mostly very inconsistent and not a lot on offer, but the odd one came through every now and then. Looks similar today.

BIG swell on cards for mid to late this week but unfortunately it looks very S :(

I surfed yesterday early down at Kiddies' Corner in almost indescribably tiny and seaweed-choked waves (friend I was surfing with didn't want to head up the beach and I didn't want to be impolite and leave her to surf alone at Kiddies').

This morning however I did a LOT better just north of North Palm Beach surf club - one of my friends and I had a peak to ourselves for the first 45 minutes (there were 3 peaks more-or-less equally good so the usual weekend early crew were able to spread ourselves out nicely). I finished up with 27 waves before I was surfed-out after 90 minutes. Water was a fair bit cooler today than it has been and it was only a couple of feet on the sets but it was as glassy as can be and overall by far the best session I have had for the last couple of weeks.

Sounds like good fun @Ted Harper

My home stretch didn't look too bad either yesterday, around 1-2ft but a few shapely little peaks

I'm hoping it will be a bit bigger on Anzac day morning around 2 feet for a fun early session. I had a look on the WAMs and it looks like that may be the case..... fingers crossed. It's been a while since I've had a really fun session

I'm currently trying to get my twins moving to go for a mid-morning surf. The one who mostly surfs with me on earlies passed his P-plates test last week but the other one is still quite a lot of driving hours behind before he can do his so today's late surf is really so he - who is in no way an early riser - can do some driving, and I would rather drive and surf than just drive aimlessly around for him to clock up hours.

Looks tiny today but a nice day and with the tide dropping it might break in a sort of a way at least.

I am also surfing early tomorrow with the usual suspects (you _have_ to surf on public holidays or they take them away from you!), so fingers crossed for a pickup in swell. A couple of them are going to the dawn service at Avalon beforehand and I reckon there will be a fair turnout for the early so I'm hoping a lot of the banks are delivering to spread people out.

I just took my usual 5'11" CI Fred Stubble. Was a bit of a grovel but I got 19 waves in 45 minutes or so. You're right that something with more foam and softer rails might have been easier but I had left my usual board in the car from yesterday so it won out :)

Lovely day. Only just starting to go onshore now.

    Announcement today from a Noosa surf lifesaver, in a very blunt, dry Paul Hogan sounding voice;

"To all the parents sunning themselves on the sand, would you make sure you keep your eyes on your kids and keep them between the flags. As you will have seen, we just had to rescue six kids sucked out to sea in a rip outside the flags. THAT, is the result of BAD PARENTING. Get your act together, watch your kids, look after your kids, and make sure they stay between the red and yellow flags. It's not that hard. Thank you.

    LOL

Documentary proof of successfully grovelling 19 waves today: http://surf.traceup.com/stats/u?uId=557376&vId=77660

Also my temporarily-Hawaiian operative just sent through this photo of herself with a board rather more appropriate than mine for micro conditions, which she rode on (or perhaps parked a small car on?) today:

It had definitely picked up a bit at Palm Beach for the early this morning - at least a foot bigger than yesterday and I'd say even a bit bigger than the day before. Rather more North in the swell than previous days also, and a warm but light NW wind blowing early which may have eased off after I finished and was having apres-surf coffee. There were a fair few in the water from early - I paddled out about 6:25 - but it was pretty manageable and I think everyone near where I was surfing got a reasonable haul of waves. My twins were going for a later surf - I think they should be in the water soon - so I'll try to get a report out of them for later, but I reckon they'd be happy if that new swell arrives just in time for them.

Delayed surf report from my twins, who surfed before lunch yesterday at Mona Vale (out from the golf club, and with a strong current running to the south): "Yeah the surf was good but it was slightly choppy". They said they got a good few waves (on their doormats) but their friend on a real board struggled somewhat. Sorry I don't have more detail than that - they are 17 year old boys...

Hey @Fozzie Bear rivermouth looked like Kirra this arvo.
Was about to hit it then the big guns started rocking up cause the Southerly had hit their side of town.
So put the gun back in the rack and went back to admin work for another couple hours.

Drove past DY just after work around 5:15 this arvo and saw a cracking 3ft+ set of 3 beautiful waves with only a handful of guys out - needless to say I think it caught them all off guard as they all scrambled and missed it!
