Snow Central is the place I usually head to. They have easy parking out front, second hand gear and a travel agency is also attached. Wide selection of gear considering Queensland doesn't have any ski resorts.

I usually go to snowbiz inthe city as I'm on the southside and it is easier, they have a good range of stuff and never had a problem with the service. Will venture over to Keperra some times, they also have a great range both have different gear so worth checking both out.

Both have pretty decent service, I prefer Snow Central as it's easier for me to get to and they seem like a big family business. [IMG]

Ben is the man to deal with at SnowBiz, very helpful.

Been into Ski Scene, but it seems really small and pokey. I like stores that have stock I can google at. [IMG] How superficial am I!!

Snowbiz on the Goldy were jerks to us. We refused to go there after that. So we took the drive to Keperra instead. I got my boots there. Very busy, but the staff were helpful enough. I got some nice northwave boots!

A familiar face, Sally who's been at Ski Scene FOREVER has left us for Melbourne..... Shame, she always gave the best service and remembers customers, was always happy to see you, year in year out! Ski Scene more ski stuff, good range of clothing. Great sales. Never pushy or hungry to snatch your money even before you've entered the door....happy to leave you to browse or just drop in to get your fix every couple of weeks as we often have! Free minties too!

Snow Biz - Bris great on tech and tuning. Sometimes found to be pretty pushy, "You must wear thin sox," we are individuals and have our own preference of what we are comfortable riding in! Sometimes a little bit show-off, know it all. $$$$

Snow Biz G/Coast - too busy looking at themselves to offer any kind of service or help!

Keperra, VERY pushy!!! Know their stuff sure, but ram it down your throat and judge you if you only ride in Australia? Not my cup of tea... Quite $$$$ on some stuff, but fluked a bargain on an awesome Ride hoodie last year. [IMG]

It's worth doing the trek to all anyway, make up your own mind plus you get your fix!

For anyone in Brisbane, SnowCentral (the shop at Keperra) have now set up a store on the other side of town at Underwood.

Will give it a whirl...just for our usual fix when you can't be on the snow....strange target market they go for in Bris, Keperra, verrrrry suburban with only the local corner shops really. You've gotta know they're there and Underwood, semi-commercial. Worth a look-see in any case! Bet of luck to them.

I'll vouch for alpine edge in paddo, craig the owner good guy, awesome boot fitter, good ski tuner & he only carries quality stock that lasts.

That monkey looks a bit like craig too [IMG]

Agree, Craig is only boot fitter in Brisbane who is trustworthy and really knows what he's talking about. While they have some very exy gear at Alpine Edge the boots are same price everywhere in Brisbane, waste of time going anywhere else unless you don't care if you buy the wrong boot. Don't like boot fitters at Snow Central, over confident and pushy. Certainly would not recommend Snow Central. Ski Biz in Woolloongabba also honest, reliable and friendly.

Snow Central Underwood - one (only one) particular older female staff member is a real PITA. Never been 'bothered' so much in any store EVER. Some attention = good... so much attention and 'suggestive selling' you can not get a word in or think straight = bad. Won't go back if she is there... MANIC and a GENIUS knows everything and everything she knows is right (even when it is wrong)!

Second that texy, that lady is fairly new and a pain in the arse. If she doesnt tone it down they will lose heaps. Shame really, as Rod (the owner) normaly at kepperra is a realy nice bloke imo.

Yeh for sure Keperra (well all other staff including Underwood) are fine, but if I stick my head in the door again and she is there I will be walking away. Nice enough I guess just OVER THE TOP and can not be told anything. I went in to get a lens (order) for an old pair of goggles... apparently they did not even make the tint I wanted but did I want to buy this new pair, what about an awesome jumper...or I should look at this (then would go and get something else) and if I looked at the price of something obviously I wanted it or something like it! I was also planning to buy a DVD, any DVD, but had had enough...

I went home and bought the tint they didn't make on the internet and watched Deeper for the 100th time.

Got my first set of boots off him 18 years ago(if it is the ex Snowbiz Craig)....I used to sell him Fishing tackle, mad fisherman then. I am due for a new set and will look him up now that I know he is still around.

Sorry to hear that. Rod Bishop has proven to be a man of integrity over many years and doesn't deserve a bad rap. I reckon their bootfitters suck tho <img src="http://forums.ski.com.au/xf/styles/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="\:\/" title="smirk" height="15" width="15" />

I had my boots done by Craig at Alpine Edge a few months ago. Very professional and very help full.

I did have people advise me not to get my boots done by someone not near where I was skiing as little adjustments
would not be able to be made as needed.

I have just returned from NZ. Did - CP x 2 days, The Remarks x 2 days, Cardrona x 1 day and TC x 1 day. Did over 20,000 vertical meters and 110 lifts. My boots exceeded my expectations and I am more than happy with the results that the fit gave in comfort and the improvement to my skiing. No problems at all as promised by Craig.

I would recommend Alpine Edge to anyone that would be looking for any ski equipment.

I can wait to get new ski's from him.

Alpine Edge in Brissey has now closed down. Shame.

And a pain in the ass as my daughter still needs some adjustments to the new boots she bought there.
