They do, I'm actually hoping they shift the magic carpet so that I won't even have to walk!
Have they installed these yet at Thredbo ?
Nice, maybe in the upgrade which should be ummmm, never.
I think tomorrow is not going to be a happy day
Yes it is, I get to be 160km closer to the snow.
But you will be unable to walk!
Nah, I'm not going to drink that much tomorrow night
Got 3 days looping Goats and Front Valley.
And hatchery bay.
Make him work @chicski, @DidSurfNowSki is pretty calculated when it comes to sneaking out of training and bludging.
Well there's no doubt @zac150 puts in the effort. This one's for you
I've seen otherwise on snow and cycle! He's more energiser bunny I think.
Are you ready to wear off the long Thredbo lunch @zac150 ?
Didn't make the long lunch, which was a shame, but did enjoy a weekend of food and wine by the campfire at Currango.
Had a beautiful slow cooked cattlemans cut, with a blue cheese butter on a bed of garlic mash, washed down with an 06 Geoff Merrell Shiraz.
From what I hear you need to do some exercise after waiting in the queues at Perisher for hours and doing the odd slide down the hill
Perisher is very popular with the great unwashed
I didn't see anyone bathing in Champagne all weekend !
I believe there was something on the lift etiquette thread about the lack of washing at Perisher.
That's because the running water is cold !
Lmao, a picture of Guthega dam in mid winter? Really! There's more natural snow in the overflow in that picture than currently on front valley!
P.s Last time I checked Guthega dam doesn't flow into Perisher
Yes I know it's much better at Thredbo
h/t to lmb
You have seen the light, I'm glad we can finally agree. Before you try and join us next year I'd recommend the following course it will help you fit in.
Sorry I missed that, was it https://chardonnayfans.com/ ?
That's the one, let me know if you need a hand navigating the site, I think it's a little more sophisticated than what your used to https://weloveroadkill.com
You 2 should get a room
We are ! Tomorrow !
Trip report NOT required
We have one, our own, not so private chat room! The funny thing is, the class is pretty much an hour of the same banter. Anything to get our minds off the pain!
Hopefully it is making a difference
@DidSurfNowSki - you alive
You looked green at one point!
I haven't had that much lactic in my legs since My last 400 race
Yeah, I wasn't feeling 100%. Good to get through it.
Some of the exercises seemed basic in the walk through but man did they hurt 20 minutes in.
Duncan comes up with some decent sets, I hope it results in better skiing.
Bad news; I've run out of salt-cured fish-eggs of the Acipenseridae family. I'll have to pass on today's activities.
Does this mean you don't have the balls or guts to front?
Correct, I'm dragging myself back to bed. Have fun.
I'm. It sure I'll be able to "have fun" do you want me to put your name down for next week
All good, I had my name put down for next week when I rang up to cancel.
That would have been a good session to miss,
Another 30min set at the end ?
No, just lots more weights during the workout, i had to hold a kettle bell during the squat holds and lunges.
My fitness in Canberra, getting ready for ski season, consisted of very high tech, very advance training.
Riding a bicycle to work, often into horrible headwinds... and walking and descending hills in the burbs.
Classhick T. Try straightlining down that track.
Nothing wrong with that, i know DSNS rides most days, I do a few sessions a week climbing and at the gym plus play a bit of football.
However whilst all are great for for general fitness they are not as specific to skiing as we think.
Skiing is very eccentric in muscle loading where as cycling and lifting weights are concentric I.e we are loading the muscle the other way.
Great article here that explains
We do a lot of eccentric lactic holds, coupled with some aerobic work. We also do a lot of balance work and strength under balance I.e doing squats whilst balancing on a bosu ball.
Let's face it anything is better than doing nothing. But it is fun doing a group class even if I have to share it with a redneck like DSNS.
I found some useful items for you in Aldi @zac150
So you don't need to mingle with the great unwashed, would you like me to get some for you?
Don't put your back out trying to pick those up!
Mountainbiking uses very similar muscles to skiing. Both hurt my knee heaps too
Doesn't slow you down at all.
Did today, had to borrow drugs from sms
Cycling does have some eccentric especially downhill mtn biking when you stand up on the pegs.
Good to see the drug trade in Perisher is still strong
We love a good carpark sale.
