    Team Bears can upload single pics into forum from the iPad photo album but not 5sec videos.
    We have not tried videos before but pics are easy.

    This same method works for uploading pic and videos on to an E mail or Facebook page....but no success with our Forum.

    The videos shot on iPad and automatically appear in album.

    Have had a quick look at other entries but am not very computer savvy .Can any body suggest why a 5sec video will not upload this way.
    Cheers...
    "Uploaded file does it have an allowed extension" is the error message.???

    explanations to Team Bears please treat us as if we are electronic idiots. thanks..
    Only thing to add is that we are on 4G not WiFi at home.....works this way but not to our forum!!

    ahh

    my dear team bears.

    all the videos you see on the forums are hosted on YouTube or Facebook or Vimeo or some other video hosting service.

    Hosting and serving videos is a quantum order more tricky than simple pics. I do not know of a 'forum' that provides video hosting directly.

    My suggestion is for you upload to Facebook and drop the link to your facebook video in a thread.

    I'll create a Tutorial later this evening. In the meantime - quick n dirty instructions:

    1. In desktop -> simply right click over the facebook video in your feed and select 'show video URL' - you will get a dialogue like this;

    [IMG]

    Copy the link - it will look like this;

    Code:
    https://www.facebook.com/hothamalpineresort/videos/10155937628058696/
    then paste into thread;

    bingo

    Good Richard....I will enable U Tube.
    Appreciate your reply.Its not critical ...I will need a little time to get my head around it....have just started Emailing for about 1 week and just stumbled thro Facebook today to catch up with some important folk.
    So no urgency here at all.
    At least I know the reason I cannot do it...thanks.

    In the facebook app, on iPhone or iPad;

    1. tap 'share' icon.

    2. Select 'copy link'

    Paste into thread.

    Dunno?

    What personal details do you mean exactly? ie account that uploaded the video?

    Are you asking because you want to show or hide details?

    Not going to happen. Facebook differentiated by enforcing the 'real you', it's how it evolved, identity is how they extract money from advertisers, it's baked into their dna and there is no hiding 'you'. Plus the account name is embedded in the video and even if it didn't the video links to your account - it's not a parameter that can be turned off with the embed code or in your settings on fb (happy to be be proven wrong)

    Suggest you create YouTube account which you can 'Alias' and obsfucate your identity somewhat. Vimeo possibly better option for privacy. No certainty though that determined sleuths wont connect some dots. Both provide equally easy upload of video from phone or tablet with the app. Both embed just as easily.

    Twitter for short vids is def an easy one to Alias and keep private.
