Not sure if it's a lack of snow this season before the mega storm but it seems that the multi award winning Perisher terrain parks have been a bit quieter than the last 4 - 5 years of Charles Beckinsales' reign, with very little coverage on social media, no big name overseas athletes promoting.

Coupled with that, a few long term Aussie well known names such as Torah Bright and Jay Kearney appear to have 'defected' to Thredbo and not only just them but quite a few of the older names too. No Odd Folks action this season either which is interesting.....

Perhaps now with the 1m+ of new snow the parks at Perisher will be given a huge overhaul but it will certainly be interesting to see if any big names come out now and the social media coverage increases......

Thredbo and other resorts can have it. Zero interest in the parks and wish theu didnt bother spending any money (or committing some of the best terrain) to them.

Wasn't it a who's who as recent as last season? Some big hitting skiers were definitely there. Maybe wait until spring.

Yeah pretty sure that was the case as I say last 4-5 years, but very quiet this year. Could be a few factors - could have been the massive North American season / slow start to Oz season with big start to NZ season and a range of other reasons.

It all just seems really, unusually quiet on this front, this year......

Torah going to Thredbo had absolutely nothing to do with the parks. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

Not sure if Perisher are even building a Super Pipe this year too and Thredbo have given up. This would have been Torah's main priority I would have thought?

Also marrying Thredbo's head of marketing probably helped change her mind

Most ski resorts are pretty boring without them

I'm happy for Perisher to sacrifice half of FV for pros and the brave to put on a show

They do need more variety in the type and size of their features - not that I go to resorts very often....

    1. its typically spring before the pro's arrive.

    2. its a season before and Olympic year.. besides that one time (Torstein) most athletes have an off season training schedule they stick too before the games.

    3. Lack of snow before now. Lack of groomers, who are still working on other areas.

    4. I did read that pipe action is waning... however Perisher spent a lot of Leichhardt park redevelopment. so doubt they are giving up.

After all this snow and the Comp season about to rev up I think we'll see a few big names come out from USA/Canada/Europe in the next few weeks

The pros are here. Marcus Kleveland, Stale, Mons, Silje etc... the scands
Weather's been shite. Only sunny days have been so so slow. Or on windhold
No Mile High this year. No big bucks.
    Torah isn't that relevant anymore.

Re the Pipe. They will struggle to get a proper Olympic pipe approved. Even though Australia has the worlds best rider.
