The accumulation rate is spectacular (but will be short lived)

Cedarwood cam - can basically buried in 45 mins. Don't know why I can't post the pic (when I try it's the one above again...)

    Simple old school chart pornography.

Look at the beautiful thing standing up as it rolls into us in WA later today, and the backspin tomorrow.

    Hold onto your beach sand.

    Looking very ordinary this morning:(
2.0 deg atm. Any fresh wet stuff that had a white colouring all washed away.
When it did fall the temp was about 1 deg or above. What is going on? Ridiculous. :tany:

Ahh, my favorite Perisher combo... Not!

    Westerly winds
    Moisture accumulating in the gauge
    Positive temps (0.6 - 1C)

    Regular programming.
The main low is still West of Tassie and looks to be another to the South.

I share your concern but remain optimist. Wet snot that has fallen so far will help the upper mountain, chains currently required from Wilsons Valley gives another tick, 9 mm moisture so far should help upper Eyre, temps slowly dropping, one more, & IF we get lucky the snow that falls from late morning will deliver. Fingers crossed BOM's 'chance of thunderstorms this evening' delivers. We will know this time tomorrow if we got lucky. Cups half full ATM.

    As predicted Teckel.
I can't believe it actually even snowed there last night.
This evening until tomorrow arvo is where Buller/lake mountain/baw baw should do OK.

I would've thought Buller's time to shine is yet to arrive? 2 days of SW from tomorrow and she'll do well.

I reckon the moisture will be largely over by tomorrow night/early am Thursday.
Think the sw portion of the system will be 12-18 hours or so of accumulation.
    Pretty clippy that last trough.

Dont believe boms aws at perisher. Very light snow started at around 2 yesterday there was no way they got 4cm between 9 and 2.
Best to hear from people on the hill. Heavy rain showers fell in Jindy last night, hopefully that could mean some snow up the hill.

    Report from Smiggs.

Windy. A mixed night; some rain, some
wintry mix, a brief spurt of heavy snow around 2am. A couple of cms on the ground and the suns out now. Did I mention it was windy?

Team Bears are ganna have to factor in the discrepancy in the bitumen colour in subsequent reports....

When it snows an accumulates down here then we will know there is a "real event"happening.......

Wet snow in Falls car park. Looks like 10cm of drier stuff overnight with snow down past Howmans Gap based on the drive up. Freezing level has obviously risen though as it's pretty much rain to the car park now.

Bloody wind hold. Not exactly unexpected though!

Moisture will ramp up today as the next trough winds up and progresses with the path of the low centre. You can see it developing and thickening on the sat pic crossing Vic coast. Cold, unstable airmass, thunderstorms due this arvo north of Melbs, IMO today and tomorrow has something for all majors.....today NW/W stream for NSW and Falls/Hot Ham, then DEEP SW fetch for BB & Bullville tomoz and Thursday.

Some nice rotation happening south of Adelaide / SA, just need that to move a bit further across which should happen gradually during the course of the day

Was going to say to my amateur eyes it looks like the centre of the low is further north than mapped earlier. Would be nice if it stayed level with Melbourne and tracked east nice and slowly.
