Light drizzle in southern Canberra very mild
Next week is your time to shine. Close your eyes for the next few days.
I hope you're right.
A few cents on CedarCam this morning, white is nice....
Some lights at the bottom of heavenly giving just enough illumination to see that not much has fallen on the freshly groomed.
Currently at Glenrowan. Consistent medium to heavy showers from benalla onward. Dry now
1cm on windscreens at Perisher, snowing lightly. Chains from Prussian Creek.
That alley from Shep to Buffalo is gold for moisture bee-lining Falls & Hotham, seems to amplify nicely with unstable NW systems IMO
Nice moisture on the Radar coming across Victoria.
Lightly snowing in Perisher
Light rain overnight at Ngarigo in the Thredbo River Valley
Wet snow to carpark level ~1300m at Thredbo just now
P**sing down rain in NW Tassie and been raining all night with over 25 mls in the Devonport guage
Slight dusting of snow settled on the cars here at Buller.
If the temps continue to hold there's going to be some surprises out of today.
Big blob on the radar above to hit Buller and we are below freezing.
6.8 degrees and 5.7mm in the gauge here, Emerald Vic. Seems like the rains easing off for a bit now.
Flags say that the wind is streaming in from the north.
I observe myself not lighting the fire this morning. 7c in Jindy and blowing hard.
Just heading back from Perisher, a few snow flurries but a brutal NW wind. Centre valley was pretty wind scoured.
Snowing at Buller - 1cm so far.
Meritts snow guns are firing now!Looks windy up there but visibility appears ok.
Vic Ski Resorts look socked in.....
Live Cam is really good!!
All action that Perisher Resort.
Wind seems to have slackened off a bit. Odd patch of blue and can see to the top of Thredbo easily. Feels like the calm before the storm.
Power is off at Buller.
No lifts running?
Cams aren't showing anything but the white out
up to 0.0°c at buller according to the BOM guage
Lifts running but no power anywhere else at buller. 1cm this morning maybe and winds a lot better than I expected. Visibility non-existant though and a million and one idiots trying to wipe out my kids everywhere we go.
On the bright side it's not raining though!
Heavy snow for about 20min this morning. Temps back up to + so hoping they slide. Skiing awesome on wombat.
Power off to all of Mt Buller (expected for the rest of the day) - if it is due to industrial action, it stinks - it is dangerous and irresponsible.
Falls tweeting it's snowing up there now
Also on their Facebook. In slalom plaza so that's just about bottom elevation.
All on generator power. Raining with a bit of sleet. Cannot bother going out, due to the visibility and the crowds at the bottom of BB1.
Yep expected until 5pm according to Ausnet. Due to industrial action it would be prolonged. Cause currently under investigation. It's all good, these things happen...
Just FYI the times they put on that are just to stop people calling up asking "When is my power coming back on?". It will be a line fault somewhere and will probably take at least a few hours to get back on. I wouldn't sit around waiting for it, put it that way.
Find a fire somewhere that is serving beers and relax
Snowing hotham on and off to bottom of heavenly load. Wind isn't bad in the gullies
Visibility is essentially one chair ahead, challenging but fun
Yep just quoted it for information purposes, not really waiting for it. Got a few jobs done around the two properties, now by the fire, chilling and scrolling through social media. Conditions are just plain horrid for skiing and boarding.
Just after I posted... power is back on at Buller.
Happy to be wrong. As I said, the times they put up are baloney.
Snowing to Friday flat on the live cam.
Really properly chucking big flakes down on the cruiser cam.
Biggest I've seen this season.
Bonus flakes before the real stuff starts. Giggity.
Just started rain / sleeting in Thredbo village. Looks pretty set in up higher
Winds have abated at Perisher and Blue Cow now all open. Having snow showers on and off and white out at the top. Based on radar we should see continued snow showers for a few hours.
Snowing at falls creek village/ice pellets
You would have to think that top of Thredbo will get a fair bit out of this. Cruiser cam looks unreal and set in!
The speckled Tongue of Thor pushing in from the bite. Let's hope it's as moist as my panties right now.
Just back from Dead Horse Gap a few ks up the valley from Thredbo at 1550m. Great snowball throwing and tobogganing on about 20cm of last wek's natural snow with some QLD mates whose kids had never seen the snow. Good snow started about 1230pm. Pretty star shaped flakes and all. Sleety drizzle with occasional flakes now in Thredbo village at 1380m
A bit quieter now. Was coming down big fat flakes last 20 mins.
