Is it just me, or is something wrong with how Baw Baw report on their snow?

From what I would have expected, a 24H Snowfall should be measured as a difference between the measurement taken yesterday, and today's measurement.

if that was true, one of the numbers highlighted in yellow is wrong today... because to me, 36+38 doesnt equal 13cm no matter how much you pack it down:

    38cm fell
25cm melted or got rained away
    13cm left

    I think?

so, they measure the depth a few hours after measuring the 24H snowfall? that seems efficient.....not!

Inefficient maybe, but to do otherwise would be pretty dishonest.

still... how do they measure the 24 hour snow if not by differential?

    By gauges and stuff? Hourly?

Think about it, take an eg say overnight, 2cm will fall from 6-7pm, 1cm from 7-8pm, etc etc (adds up to 38cm), then the sun comes out and burns much of it off... what's left?

It looks like they use the sum of both in their reports

they need rigorous scrutiny and transparency...Team Bears suggest something like Cedarwood Snow Cam and coke can unit of measurement....as stated elsewhere in this forum this should be introduced across the board in Aus as the new rigorous approach to reporting....:whistle::whistle:
