    Whats everyone use?

    Snow Forecast
    Open snow
    On the snow
    Mountain watch

Its getting to that time of the year where I continually look at the OS resorts to see who's getting snow, with a focus on the areas Im heading to in Feb.
Would be nice to hear what sites fellow forum friends use.

Mods, maybe move to the Snow specific forum rather than the canadian thread??????

    That's a big question.
You can look at that country's meteorology website.
The only one those website's you listed I check is Mountainwatch for OS predictions. I wouldn't rate it highly for accuracy, but I prefer its layout and feel to other similar websites.
The only other predictions website I go on for OS is yr.no, Norway's meteorology bureau that relies heavily on ECMWF forecasts (which are arguably pretty accurate to an extent).

Otherwise, I just formulate my own forecasts with GFS, EC, GEM, JMA and other models. Happy to provide them to the weather forums here.

Ventusky is also a nice visual forecasting site(found by @jeffx@stormwise) which has GEM (Canada) and GFS (US) + ICON.
Good comparison to Yr.no which is EC (Europe)

    Snow.forecast doesn't work in Japan.
It often under forecasts by 3-5 x
It might predict 10cm, and there's actually 30-50cm. But that's because it doesn't understand the mechanism of how it snows in Japan

That's because Japan is probably the hardest area to forecast snow for. And only few like yourself know all the specifics to forecasting in Japan. It's hard for computer models to grapple with that in depth knowledge that you have because Japan is different to so many other snow places.

Is not the forecast for Japan something like this:

Mon - Blue skies, slight wind, dumping overnight
Tuesday - Blue skies, slight wind, dumping overnight
Wednesday - Blue skies, slight wind, dumping overnight

    ect ect

I like Mountainwatch for their round up of conditions on each continent. But I find their actual snowfall estimates pretty poor.

Their layout is nice , but the forecasts are low quality. I am not quite sure if they use EC, which is the most accurate of the forecasts.

Snow-forecast modelling shows some weird results.

It shows the forecast for a resort at three different altitudes and often the snow fall down low is higher than at the top?
