......but only one more sleep to go!!!!
I have 7 days to go and I am getting very impatient.
Jealous... But I need to work so I can afford to go next year
I am a chronic over packer. I have been working hard to get it right this time. It's hard
Same here. Never fail to not pack too much.
Good luck with the trip. May the snow gods be as kind to you as they were to us. And don't let too many cats out of the bag.
Pack an hour before you leave. You won't over pack.
Is that a western Australian male trait? PB does this! Drives me mad!
You're not the only one who gets antsy about it! I get told every time!
Premature. In the car on way to airport is much more fun.
All checked in and sitting in Qantas business lounge, courtesy of JAL Premium Economy perk. Win!
Ueno tonight then first shink out of there to Morioka tomorrow.
Any izakaya recommendations near Ueno station anyone?
If you cant hold it in your hands, you dont need it. People take too much with them.
OK, lounging in the lounge has been very nice but damn it, it's time to board and get my ass to Japow!!
See you in the other side!!
Pack 2 days in advance. The following day remove half of what you packed the day before.
Pack for 7 days regardless of how long your trip is. If you need a laundry you'll find it.
Came over for 6 weeks before and way over-packed. Only used half the stuff in the suitcase.
So now it doesn't matter if its a week in Wanaka or several weeks overseas I just pack the same stuff every ski trip.
Are you kidding?
That's way over packed!
Sorry not 7 days worth of ski gear! like underwear etc stuff you need to wear clean every day, shirts to change into after skiing.
2-4 days worth ski specific stuff, excluding outer layers (which I only have 1 of anyway)
couple of pairs of jeans and warm jersey/hoodies
maybe next year for me...
Just finished day 2 in japow. Yesterday at Amihari and today at Appi Kogen. I was really tired yesterday I didn't feel the love. Not Amihari's fault mind. Today was another matter. Fresh legs, a huge ski hill and plently of space to let loose. Not really a great deal of fresh snow at Appi but I was still a happy camper.
I have every intention of compiling a trip report in a separate thread. Except I come back every night buggered from the day's skiing. I'll get around to it soon.
Yes feeling the age creeping up on you - tried in the evening.
I know the feeling.
Still have every intention. Except, every night something happens. Tonight, I'm staying in a great onsen called Semi Onsen. I'm just back from dinner. Oh my, how awesome it was. Now, despite not actually doing much exertion today due to crap snow conditions, am very much in need of a lie down.
But, don't worry...trip report to come.
under 24 hours till i go to the airport, , this is going to take foreva
Did it look like this?
Watashi no i ga ippaidesu
YES..exactly like that. I recognise the silver dome, amongst other things.
Mine looked like this, before things got messy
Do you always eat for Two persons?
As long as I am in Japan it is quite OK to show such pictures - but you should NOT show them again when I am back home - it just makes me sad not to be here anymore.
