In this thread, those words are highly inflamatory causing a severe worsening of the condition:(

Was 6 degrees here in Narbethong at 7am. Would have been a lot colder on Lake Mountain where there's a music festival this weekend. Can't see any snow on the webcams, but it must have been close. Cold night for the festival goers!

Same here. Doing a retirement scouting mission to Tasmania in October, that'll consume this year's savings.

Looks awesome. Thinking of packing the caravan and heading down to some cooler weather. We haven't been below 23 degrees (as a minimum) for what seems like months now and we have only had 1.4mm of rain in the last couple of months, so very envious of conditions in the mountains!

Question - if you were going to have only 1 week in the snow this year and wanted the best snow, what week would you choose? Mid August?

Watch the weather and choose at the last minute - if your job allows for it. Mid August is likely, but not always.

    THis ^.
Some recent years has been at it's best thru July then nothing fresh , of any consequence after that.
Last year it chucked it down after the lifts stopped turning.....
Rule of thumb first week of August is it but , if you can , watch the weather closely then hit it .
Hard tho if you gotta book it in a long way out.

Yep with such a short season in Aus, nothing but the primo high season booking if you have to book early.
