Taking the family to the snow for the first time before the end of the season. I'm thinking of bringing the dogs too.

Has anyone brought their dog to the snow to run around and play in? I reckon they'll love it. I just can't think of any open areas to do so, other than on the side of the road. Does anyone know if dogs are prohibited/allowed around Friday Flats at Thredbo? I know after 4:30 everyone's gone home so maybe I can take them then. They are only small poodles.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers

No pets allowed into any National Park nor Ski Resort.

Hope you find some pet boarding.

whenever I am at Falls I seem to see dogs around the village- usually owned by owners/workers of lodges- do they have special permits?

    National Parks.
    No dogs.
Same rules for summer and winter.

The pets go boarding while we go boarding...but they are in a different state in the boarding kennels.

I have seen a wild dog on the Guthega road. He wasn't boarding just going for a snow paw.

Ring thredbo and ask them, I thought I read somewhere recently about dog permits in thredbo. I take my pups each year (dinner plain, Vic) and have done for many years. They know the word snow now and get quite excited.
But you must keep them on a leash and, clean up after them etc.

Perisher and Thredbo are both part of the National Park. No animals allowed (there are even restrictions on horse riding in the Park). Vic resorts are not within a National Park, hence different rules apply.

DP is freehold land hence no restrictions on dog ownership/vistation but rools apply at Hotham.
