That Cortina deal is off the charts. It's as if they're paying you to ski there. Pizza & Onsen FTW.

There are talks at the moment with Cortina to get a bus either two or three days per week from the Goryu/47 area for anyone staying there.. Probably 500yen. Would be good value with the voucher.

Speaking of coupons, if you go to the Ski Shop area of Tokyo, have a look in the bigger stores, and you will find a small area with brochures for lots of different snow resorts.

Amongst the stuff, you will find quite a few discount coupons for lifts.

These are the sorts of coupons you can get:

Top one is Otari. Left is Tsugaike, middle Norikura, right is Cortina. Tsugaike one is lift + 900yen for meal. Norikura is 500yen off (3000yen). Cortina is 500yen off (2800yen). It's numbered, so you'd need the original.

Bottom one is Goryu/47. Lift + 1000 yen for lunch.

Left is the Cortina deal (3500yen for lift, 1000yen for lunch, Onsen, rental) or just 2800yen for the lifts.

    Right is Iwatake.
First is 4400yen for lift, 1000yen for lunch, etc.

    Next is Adult/child, adult 2 kids, 2 adults 1 kid, 2 adults 2 kids.

I think the next is 4 adult lifts for one day. (it says "Value 4)

    Next is lift plus rental.

    Last is Ski school ski/snowboard.

    3rd column is senior (60yo)
    4th column is child (12 & under I think)

Suginohara 3300 yen ticket is for 4 hours right? You may be able to pick up a good discount ticket from one of the lodges in myoko-worth asking around!

Darn it, I am not going to Tokyo before we ski, hopping off the plane and straight on the Hakubus. Is there somewhere in Hakuba that we can get the coupons or discount booklets?

    Xena,

With the exception of the few coupons that have numbers at the bottom, you should simply be able to print the coupons from this forum and use them when you're in Hakuba.

This is correct. I will post up the rest of the Hakuba blue Snownavi coupons on the first page when available, but you can just print and cut them out before you leave Australia.

Cortina deal looks good. I've made it my mission to get there at least one day this trip.

Sandy, re the Iwatake 4 person coupon, it says common spelling gondolas, does this mean this coupon is limited to only certain lifts?

For those of us who are slightly older there are some good "seniors" discounts for 50 and over at Goryu/Hakuba47, Iwatake, Norikura/Cortina.
Link to coupon page at Snownavi for some of the other fields.

Super Duper Sandy. Thanks for all your effort.

My Japanese isn't great, but question K on that coupon's survey asks your reason for choosing this resort - and one of the responses is 'because the toilets are good'!

One of those only in Japan moments.

I used this coupon and form(copy not original, so you can print it off here) at Nozawa the week before last, and got the discount ticket. So everything works as it should.
