I noticed this as a sponsored post on fb
Which could be interesting.
Old school! 06 area code!
80m long magic carpet apparently.
From memory (I worked there in 83, or 84) the big reason was needing an upgrade to the power, to be able to then go ahead with the bigger plans. The existing slope was only ever supposed to be a trail area, which was successful. The original proposal was to locate it at Mt Gininni, but without a sealed road, or enough power, and a government unwilling to invest it was never going to happen. Best wishes for the new owners, I hope they can make it grow!
I'm so doing that once it opens.
Pricing is on their website now. $30 for a 3.5 hr session, $39 for a two hour lesson. Helmets compulsory (rental @$5), ski and clothing rental available.
I'm going to be fascinated to see if they can make a go of it. It's great to see a slightly different business model for skiing in Australia, beyond the $120 full day lift ticket.
I saw some plans back in the 90s which included five trails serviced by a double chair.
Yup, with carpet skiing for summer.
Good on them
Could be a great place for Canberra beginners to get their first turns in before hitting the big mountains.
The guy writing the review looks oddly familiar...
"Alpine slide is really fast, faster than I can handle."
This is awesome, as it means i can get some practice in every now and then. I hope it goes well for them
Cough, cough @VSG
Nice review dude.
Big promo in the Canberra press. Re-opening for skiing and boarding.

Spent a few hours sliding down the hill there Saturday arvo. Had a great time, all good fun and smiles.
Corin's just announced they're shutting up the skiing for this year, though snow play will go another week. 2.5 month season at 1200m - pretty good effort. Hope they made enough money to be doing it again next year.
Very good. Wondering how much of that was lifted sliding. If you know what I mean.
Vs snow play?
I followed them on FB just for the hell of it and from what I can tell, their snowplay has been very very popular, often booked out on weekends and thru the school hols, but the skiing hasn't usually been as busy. From what I can remember I think they opened both at the same time in mid-June.
Corin opening on the weekend for both snow play and skiing.
Copycats. Bandwagon jumpers.
Report from there on the ABC this morning or last night.
I just did some work with them for ski patrol and they're looking forward to a bumper season. They've invested a more dollars and feel they've got a good product.
Good luck to them. It's a great way for the young 'uns to get a start.
Skied there in 1984 and 1985.
Out of curiosity, are you able to talk about the sort of work you did with them?
First aid related.
