Its a shocker in the village area . Warm up there today . The slopes could be salvagable with a freeze and 10cm plus top up.. Hopefully we dont get as much prefrontal Ra*n with this front.
I hope the Bom and the other models are wrong and the pre-frontal is colder then they are indicating other wise we are going to get pumped with Big Ra*n before the Snow arrives which will be falling on nothing but bare rocks.. Lets hope it is colder then predicted as we could get a fair bit from the NW before it turns westerly.. Traditionally benlomond does not get much snow from the west.
Looks like the bulk of the moisture is behind the magic blue line on the cola charts. BOM are forecast snow to lowish levels tomorrow. This weekend also looks interesting on a number of different forecasts. Should be right for a bit of snow for the Bender I think!
Maybe a couple of cm this arvo for the ben with this westerly change.. The front arriving on sat night should give the Ben 2-3cm into sunday morning.. Early next week looks intresting with a very cold change arriving ..!
The BOM are forecasting 12 and 11 with rain and showers as the maximums over Sunday - Monday. Temps that cold plus moisture should see us getting at least a bit of snow. 10cm? perhaps more if we're lucky. Hopefully enough to get us skiing at the Bender!

I like your optimism julz, just have to wait and see. 11 is about the max for Launceston for snow to fall on Ben, and then it depends which direction the wind is blowing from.
I reckon temps will be alright. IMO snow forecast tends to underestimate the amount of moisture. From memory when we got that dump a few weeks back they only had around 3-5cm forecast.
I agree Julz.. The thing with snow-forcast it is often correct at predicting snow.. When they predict say 11mm of rain and 3cm of snow (like last weekend) it is usually a mess as the ground it to wet to hold any snow after it finally get cold enough to snow.. But when they predict snow (and no rain) like this Sunday currently they usually underestimate totals so let keep our fingers crossed that we get maybe 4-6cm Sunday and another 2-4cm monday tuesday.. Or more would be even better,.
Snow forecast give an indication of snow that will fall this does not always equate to snow that settles; ground temps, moisture and wind all play a part in what we end up with.
Hopefully what snow we got today 3-4cm max & maybe a little more tonight will freeze solid.. This weeks prog for the Ben is hard to pick. It should be cold enough for snow all week but no huge amounts of moisture. Best chance to snow is monday and tuesday..At least it will be cold & hold the base together for the next big fall..
I hope I am wrong but it does not look good for snow for skiing at the bender. Look foward to the next dump! BLI is right, as there will be a big freeze.
Looking better up the Ben still more needed..Looks like we got a dusting overnight 1cm maybe a few more snow showers this arvo .. There is the possibility of a cold front looming up from the south on Sat arvo / night and into sunday .. Still to early for sure but could reach the Ben for some Bender snow on saturday night to get us in a drinking mood and then again on Sunday.. ! Clutching at straws a bit !
Snow Gobbler yesterday knocked things around a bit.. Still looking better then it was last weekend.. a chance of snow falling saturday night / sunday morning.. Then again on Monday.. Other then that cant see much happening until later next week..
