Just a short Notice to all who are driving this way to Mt Buller this weekend.

Because of the works on the North south Pipe line there are now many speed restrictions on the 50klm between Yarra Glenn and Yea.The avererage spped is 80klm down to 40 klm.

Also all bar 2 of the overtaking lanes are closed and down to one lane.Importantly the overtaking lane at the top of the Tolangi forest is down to one lane so dont rush up the hill.

Also all on the overtaking lanes now star with a right hanh turn lane for the trucks to go off into the forest and the are little pilons on the road to stop you pulling out early.

These restrictions have added up to 25 minutes to our drive to Sawmill settlement. Please be carefull as we have already had two near misses as people have become frustrated and tried to pass in stupud places.

Hope this helps all and be safe

Roll on winter

it's an extremely frustrating drive these days. not much you can do but put up with it. 25 minutes isn't the end of the world.

If you are going this way, do Teckel a favour and be a nuisance, feel free to knock over as many things as you can, turn a speed sign around etc, prizes maybe for the most imaginative.

Are the reduced speed limits only during the day IE when work is being done or 24 hours a day?

Ouch. Back in the good old days before there were too many cameras around I used to do Mirimbah-Malvern in about 2hr 15mins, but there were a lot fewer 80 zones around then. Now Mirimbah-Armadale is around 2hr30 - 2hr45

To take the 12% of water that's in Lake Eildon and should belong to the farmers, the Murray and Adelaide, and give it to Melbourne (whose storages are abot 30%) so they can have green grass

The pipe was to be built on the premise that it would take the water from the system that was saved from other measures like covering the canals around the Goulburn, thereby leaving a net zero effect on water flow. The deal is though that those measures are not and won't be undertaken. So the pipe is being built but the savings won't be achieved to result in the zero net effect.
