hey steve.... not sure yet... as i mentioned, im just going to rock up to the jobs fair in Nov and see whats on offer...
Ive heard thats the way to go.... Ideally though maybe just working as a rental tech or in retail shop would b pretty sweet... Just something that lets me ride at least 3 days a week  Yew!

nice work, i am arriving on november the 23rd, so just need to sort out accom. which could be tricky. i will just keep my eyes open. anyone knows when all the stuff for the winter goes up on the websites?

yeah dude check out pique magazine.. Prolly the most reliable source for acomm in whistler....
They post their winter rentals around june(ish) i think??

Q. Is there a limited amount of earlybird passes onsale or do they just sell them up to a certain date?
Q. Can anyone get a spirit pass or do you have to go through an employer to get it. How much cheaper is it?

I'm going to be in Whistler from mid December until early May, pretty much a full season!
I've got accommodation, just struggling for a job.. got any ideas on how to find one??
i've been on a few websites etc etc but they're all just the same.
Would love something just in retail or as a lifty so i have something when i arrive!

If you can, best bet is to rock up to the jobs fair that runs from the 1st of Nov till the 3rd..... A company called intrawest owns Whistler/Blackcomb. They employ a vast majority of the mountains workers... They also have wicked benefits, such as a free season pass, discount food vouchers and invites to the sickest parties Yeew
The start advertising jobs on the whistler website on the 4th of Sep. You apply online, then turn up to the jobs fair and smash the interview Killer
Hope this helps... Other wise im sure there are a tonne of places around that have help needed signs around whistler

hey guys, know this must have been asked a million times, but I have never been O/S to board before.
I have been researching and have settled on either BW or whistler to spend 6 weeks on holiday at (around 8th dec - end of jan), leaning strongly towards whistler because i'm a single 21 yr old male
I would be taking annual leave, so have a decent income while I am there, but would maybe supplement it with a cashie job on the side for one or two nights a week? do these exist in Whistler? I'm a qualified chef, so I assume some dodgy place could use an extra hand for cash under the table.
re: accommodation, I am looking to go for a fairly long stay (6 weeks), (in my books) but obviously not the 6mnths + that a lot of places are asking for to get relatively cheap accommodation, I have been having a look around and the hotels etc seem to start at $140/night during peak season. This is a bit too rich for my blood, are there any places to stay for a period such as mine that are somewhat reasonable? (less than $400/wk)
I would think that such accommodation really should be avail, I cant afford to spend $1050/wk on a hotel room.
any advice would be much appreciated! cheers!

daniel, it is tough to find short term rentals as you can imagine landlords want the place filled all season.
since i am choosing to only do the peak of the season dec, jan and feb i am going thru a uk company called seasonit.co.uk.
it is more expensive but they offer rentals from 1-7 months. my rent comes to around $350 a week which includes everything internet and even has a hottub:)
there is another company called seasonaires.com i think.

Shellfish84 good to see you added yourself to the list. There is another Whistler Thread titled: Shared Whistler season accom. Its found on the next page of the travel threads. Add yourself on there and join the rest of the guys & gals still looking. That goes for anyone who hasnt seen that particular thread, check it out. It may help your search for accom.
The list of ppl heading over is looking good, at this rate we will have plenty of people and should be able to organise a big pissup/gathering mid season, not that we'll need an excuse for another one...haha
