So, it's been snowing a bit in NZ over the past few days. Check out the Craigieburn ski area's facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/craigieburnGood timing as the first ski fields open on Saturday. Also; -7 in Wanaka this morning. Brrrrrr

Yep looks like we have a good start to the season here in Canty! Hamner springs got hit pretty hard so I see on the news Hutt and Porters reporting good falls, Looks like the clubbies did well too!

Digging out rope-tows sucks, but not as much as digging out the kill lines. Skiing the accessed terrain however, does not suck at all.
The over-riding sentiment is - BOOM!!

The Press is reporting that Christchurch had a record lowest ever maximum temp yesterday (in 149 years) with a miserable 0.4 degrees measured at the airport.

I've spent plenty of time in places as cold or colder to know that NZ is not a particularly cold country (in the areas where most people live and work, at least).
Desert Road is ho-hum.
