Stayed at Smiggins in the past but heading down to the snow for a week with a couple of girl friends, we're 20 and all ski black diamond. What do you think would be the best resort to have a good ski and some nightlife as well?

For nightlife and restaurants - Thredbo by a light year.

For the skiing - if you're going for 7 days you'd be better to spend time at both. My choice would be to stay at Thredbo, take 2 or 3 days out and drive down to skitube and ski PB (or drive the whole way around) and ski the other days at Thredbo. If you're snowed in then Thredbo's the place to be by a mile, and you're already there.

If you're going for 5 days then it's a toss up. In good snow, Thredbo wins. In marginal snow then it varies - Thredbo does well because of snowmaking, but it can get slushy low down if it gets warm.

have to agree with RR on this one ,got nothing against thredbo, just everytime I organize to go there for the day the weather turns to shit, horizontal snow ,lifts on hold, crap visability or sticky snow as you get 3/4 down the supertrail.probably just bad luck more than anything else.Ive heard when the snow is great, thredbo can be fantastic. We are going to try and spend 3 to 4 weeks in Jindy this sept,so I will probably try and get over there early on for a few days. But we have perisher season passes and most days there just love cruising around, with the exception of smiggins will try and do every run a couple of times ,and some more again.Does anyone know when that new chair lift was going to be operational at Guthega as it is a pain when skiing around mother in law,the screw and schnaxl's

Of course, when it's full of rocks, and wet snow. \:p

Anyway, what's a group of 20 year old, girl black diamond skiers, doing asking us, where to ski. Where did they get their black diamond ski level. Milo Club at Thredders, Bunny run at Selwyn.

BTW Paige, what happen to your job at Perisher.

You see those three amigos from Mexico, Andrea, mx and snorks, this is what they are missing out on. Really disappointed they haven't offered Paige some help yet. I can only hope they are secretly PMing her.

Surely no one is holding their breath for this to happen.
After the Packers failed to sell PB with the approved plans all sorted, I doubt that there's going to be much more of the proposed upgrades than some extra snow guns.

Oh dear, it appears there was some confusion, and they have installed extra snow bums for the season. They were getting them cheap from South Korea.
