It could be that and not the coating.
Fortunately the RHS is the structural part of it and that was fine and welds clean so all went together well and dead straight up to that point, it was the other angle and flat sections that needed a burn and thats when it all went pear and bannana shaped.

Bad drivers....dangerous, on the F3 each morning heading toward Sydney from the Central Coast....RAGE. Two accidents right in front of me in past three days. Too close together, insufficient intellectual and analytical capacity, and not enough care for those around them.
Had to screech to stop - RAGE, I just bought new tyres and now those bastards have caused some flat spots, not to mention having to accomodate "um, what is going to happen to me?" as their vehicles bounce all over the place and off rock walls.
Tradies make me rage.....they are the ones causing all this as they speed in to Sydney each day. I swear each of them is competing against the other for the toughest looking ute or whatever, the fastest driving, and who can change lanes very dangerously whilst sitting about 18 inches behind the vehicle in front.

Be careful BM I don't know about everyone else but when I was taught to drive, I was taught to keep a 3 second gap. No one does that these days. It's downright dangerous especially in the wet.

I drive along there very defensively...they are all mad. I was very nearly killed when the car I was in rolled and I ended up lying in the gutter with the car resting on top of me and my feet sticking out only....I know how quick it comes undone and the experience. It appears as though some of them are not the same and a 'scare' might change them.
The Tradies Rage was only against those who drive like maniacs on the F3....most of them are in utes which is how you can tell. Mind you, some execs do like wise in their pooncy BMWs and the like. Actually one of the cars in the two car accident today on the Hawkesbury River Bridge was a BMW. How do they do that driving in a straight line?

Some People don’t learn. On the Perth now web site yesterday there was a story of a guy who was charged with killing his girl friend in a drag racing crash ( i think it was last year) killing him self the other day on a motor bike after smashing into the back of a car at high speed..

There are some real idiots on the road these days.
My rage is with the certain few umbrella users on the footpaths. Sure its a wet day here in Sydney, but why do you insist on keeping your umbrella up WHEN IT ISN'T EVEN RAINING at the time? So many time, I have narrowly avoided being pokes in the eye.
Oh yeah, another thing about you few certain umbrella out there. Why do you insist on keeping your unbrella up UNDER SHOP AWNINGS?

Fortunately the RHS is the structural part of it and that was fine and welds clean so all went together well and dead straight up to that point, it was the other angle and flat sections that needed a burn and thats when it all went pear and bannana shaped.
Heat soak from the welding warping the steel? Yes. If you weld something to RHS (rolled hollow section) for example square RHS there is some heat to the side of it that cause that side to skrink a little bending the RHS. To correct that you use the oxy to heat the other side at the same spot and quench it with wet rag (and thick rubber glove you dont get steam burn) and that will shrink the other face and straighten the RHS section back up. Not hard to do and it fixes it. But if you use a lot of heat to weld to begin with you need to use a lot of heat the other side to correct it, the amount of shrinkage on two opposing faces has limits and if you do it too much the sides come into play and the section begins to lean to one side, if you do the same oxy and quench to correct it at that point (adjusting a third face of the square) you can easily go beyond the point of no return and never get it dead straight again. Add to that welding say 10 parts over 3 metre length, you get 9 of them right but the last one too hot, then set about trying to fix it to save the rest of the job, but its not saving it. So this job went ok for most of it but the later parts caused things to go out of control. But fact is a better welder than I would have seen it coming. I can handle others making mistakes but not myself and it is not often a let a job get out of my control and none have in the business to date, could have stopped at a certain point I knew it was going pear shaped but it was false confidence. I am pissed off with myself over it. Ive got 2 other buyers waiting for the new unit to be completed as well before ordering so there is a lot hanging on this one. And now winter is nearing Ive not only blown nearly 2 months income but time to get everything done and another 2 units built and delivered before it snows. Mid week ski days are under serious threat unless I get some shit done fast and make some money.

its not joke, and i haven't poached eggs in it either
i think i left it on the train. this guy got on the station before i had to get off. he really stunk. he had a backpack. bloody feral hippy homeless person. so i was trying not to dry heave. he sat next to me. i made faces and put my hand over my nose....ok, i didn't really, but i wanted to...i may of done a rabbit impersonation though. he got up and sat next to the girl opposite me. she got up and moved away as i got up and got off the train. bastard probably has my water bottle...and got two seats.
