Just a quick question, any chance of snow out of this or the next systems for Goulburn or Crookwell?

Couldn't of timed the week up at Falls any better (well, later may still be better if looking at the coming week, but certainly not earlier). Heading up Sunday, may even need to work out how to fit the chains if we get up there too late. Very excited.
The buzz around here now almost makes up for all those systems that generated such hope yet sadly deflated all hopes of a bumper year.

Really??? 700 odd metres? How low are they expecting this snow to get down to... at this rate we aren't even going to be able to get to the fields... and to think that I was worried that there would be grass everywhere! Gawd

Hey Donza, your a weather purist like myself I reckon, there is nothing sexier than simple MSLP charts showing a sweet low pressure system rising up in front of a high cell, pushing thru then going all cut off, and the high getting all north/south on our ass allowing a few more fronts buried in the complex blasting up with dragging that classic southerly fetch with them.
We must admit, the only thing that could make sunday's system better now could be deeper pressure, but geez its looking the goods. 3 troughs, 4 fronts, big moisture, jet stream feed, cold out break then cut-off low and follow up outbreak. Now that is a system!
My view is, there is going to be huge moisture upgrades over next few days as the LPS deepens and develops. I have been watching the sat loops intensly and the troughs are spraying residual moisture into the atmosphere over the south east and I reckon our main front and low will harness that available moisture, giving us better than expected precip. results. It looks like the main low is gunna explode at just the right time, check how the front in the bight is starting to develop, gather moisture and show its face!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!! DOES IT GET ANYMORE GOD DAMN EXCITING.......... (other than 40cm a day every day riding Niseko Pow, accept when you pop out of a binding in the trees and one of ya K2 Apache's is still laying quietly somewhere over there somewhere off near the Niseko Gondola on the top of that ridge that drops into the avalanche gully!!!! Geez!! But that's another story....) Aussie winters suck plenty, but when it happens, crap its a magic show. We are gunna be all smiles this week, Donza.
(Where the hell is Taipan these days?? )

thanks claude. read an article in on herald sun website with the forecaster saying mt dandy on the outscerts of mel could see some snow out of sundays system?? The system doesn't look as nearly as cold as original projected, based on 9am GFS run. While 540 line is well north, 528 line is now significantly south of Tasmania.
